One month to go before your big day–hang on to your hat and your pocketbook. In the last month, everything comes together or apart, and grabs your energy andwallet at the same time. Not to worry. By staying organized and calm, everythingwill fall into place perfectly– NOT! The last month is indeed a most challengingtime.
We have heard many wedding mishaps that could have been prevented by taking afew extra steps during the last month. In a perfect world, you would havescheduled a second photographer, ordered a backup cake, contracted the servicesof a seamstress for the day-of, and scheduled your hairdresser to follow youdown the aisle with hair spray in one hand and a comb in the other.
Here are some survival tips for the last month:
Call each vendor at least two weeks before your wedding and review everylittle detail (such as time, location, payment balance)
Take time to "visualize" every moment of your wedding. Consider "Plan B"items, such as a tent for an outdoor wedding (be it too much sun or rain)
Perform a full dress rehearsal with the attendants
Accept that there may be surprises or glitches that occur and may change theanticipated rhythm of your event
Smile and you will see that things work themselves out. If the extra candlesthat you ordered last minute don't arrive in time, no worries—your guests won'teven know about it. The ring bearer who cried at the altar is not somethingthat was planned, but some mishaps are fun to laugh about later.
